Sunday Musings

Where has life taken me as a mom? It's been years since I posted on this blog, as life became so busy. My girls are growing up so fast. I now have an 8th grader and a junior in high school. So many things have happened, yet motherhood remains constant. The girls are discovering and shaping their own identities, but I continue to be the support and the arms they can run to when they need it.

There isn't much to do today, which is why I'm writing in this blog. My Fifi has her friend over for a sleepover. She calls him her "bestie." Bestie is actually a female, but prefers to be addressed as "he," and I respect that.

This is Fi's very first time having a friend sleep over at our house. Fi has been to her bestie's house for sleepovers several times already; in fact, he's the only friend she has ever had a sleepover with. They've been schoolmates since fourth grade, but last year, bestie's parents decided to homeschool him. I'm just grateful that Fi's friendship with J continued even after he left school. Playing online games is their way of bonding. They invite each other to their birthdays and share most interests: Vocaloid, anime, FNAF, online games (of course), and Japanese music, and probably more that I don't even know about.

Fi's big sister, E, also plays with them online. It's nice to know that all three of them get along so well. One of E's friends also plays online games with them, so all four kids know each other. Right now, they are all in the room playing again. They just finished lunch and are back to their usual bonding. I can hear them talk and laugh—it's music to my ears.

I want to write more in this blog. I missed documenting so many memories that have gone by. It's time to rededicate my time to what matters most.
