Evie's First Filipino Word

Aside from teaching my daughter new English words in her vocabulary, I am also teaching her some Filipino words in Tagalog or Visayan (Cebuano). I basically speak Cebuano, so, most of the Filipino terms I teach my daughter is from the said dialect. Her very first Filipino word is "bato." One afternoon we were outside and she was busy picking up stones and it just came to mind to teach her what she's holding in my native language. Bato is a Tagalog and Visayan word which means "stone or rock."

This is just the beginning of her introduction to my mother tongue. More will come as she grows up.
