One Night in Vegas

Family had the privilege to stay a night in Vegas, all expense for FREE! We stayed at the Cosmopolitan in a very luxurious room: 2 beds, a big bathroom with jacuzzi, with a nice overlooking-the-strip balcony.

It was a one night family affair. Along with us are my in-laws with Aunt  Pam and Uncle Tim who had their own fancy rooms. While waiting for our rooms to be ready, we went up to aunt and uncle's room and we saw this magnificent display of double rainbow from their balcony. What a perfect timing! What a privilege to see such heavenly beauty!

We took the girls to the hotel's pool as promised. The water's temperature was 80+ degrees which is a little cool for the desert rats. But the girls didn't care at all. They just had fun soaking themselves.

Everybody splurged in food at the Wicked Spoon buffet restaurant. There was so many food to try, not to mention the wide selection of dessert. Fi had too much, grampa just indulged her with anything he can find for her and she never say "np." Evie had various flavors of sorbet. It's the only dairy-free dessert available, but she was happy and content of what she got. Mango was her favorite flavor. Had a second batch of it, but was not able to finish the entire bowl. Just a little too much for the little girl.

Breakfast was also at the Wicked Spoon and was my hubby's birthday! What a way to celebrate his birthday this year. So happy to find pork belly with crispy skin on it. Reminds of the "lechon" at home. Fi couldn't have enough of the crispy skin. This girl just eats almost everything! Evie was quite happy to have some food that she can eat and decided to have another sorbet for dessert. :)

Hubby and I were able to enjoy the Vegas nightlife. Thanks for my FIL who watched the girls while hubby and I took advantage of the time to spend time for a date. We walked around The Strip, drink some Fat Tuesday mixes, just enough to make us become sillier than we were without alcohol. I am so grateful that I get to lavish this little time I have with my husband. It's been a while since we had a "date." It feels nice to have this one-on-one time with him even just for few hours. He played cards and I played slot machines.

I wished we had enough time for the girls to see some nice things around. Time was not enough. Hopefully next time we can take them for a walk. A stroller is absolutely needed.

Everybody is quite impressed of how our 5 and 2 year olds survive the long travel. There was no crying and fussing at all. Evie was talking the whole time on our drive home. I don't know where she got all the energy. Fi only slept for 20 minutes and was awake the whole time after a very short nap. Well, thanks to the food, iPad, and Leapster that kept her occupied!
